We’re excited to share that we’ve found a location for the new splash pad at Lions Park! It will be between ball diamond 2, the playground, and the outdoor rink.

After careful consideration, the selected site reflects both current and future development plans for the park and the surrounding area. This location was chosen to ensure the splash pad is accessible, well-integrated into the park’s evolving layout, and positioned to best serve the community for years to come.

This decision was shaped by both internal and external engagement, with valuable input from staff and community members helping guide the outcome. The number one thing we heard from residents was how important the skating rink is to your neighbourhood all year round. It’s used as a rink in the winter, and in the summer months, many community events are held in that space. As a result, we intentionally avoided a location that would affect the community’s use of that area.

Now that a location has been found, we’re starting to design what the new splash pad will look like. Answer our online survey and tell us: How do you use the McLennan Park splash pad? What feedback do you have about the future Lions Park splash pad?

We want to make sure the new one is just as great – or better! Your input will be considered as we design the future Lions Park splash pad.
