Celebrate the reopening of Meadowlane Park

September 1, 2026

Join us on Saturday, September 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the grand reopening of Meadowlane Park and see how your ideas helped shape the changes to the park.

After years of planning, construction and community involvement, Meadowlane Park has been transformed with new trails, gathering spaces, naturalized areas and a stormwater pond designed to help reduce erosion and flood risks while improving water quality.

Come out and:

  • Explore the new pond-side and multi-use trails
  • Plant a pollinator seedling and help grow the park's habitat gardens
  • Enjoy live music, face painting, outdoor games and a bingo scavenger hunt
  • Learn about the 2,500+ native trees, shrubs and perennials added to the park
  • Enjoy popcorn and a free refreshments with neighbours

You can also learn how the stormwater pond works, hear about the project's journey from design to construction, explore environmental displays, and see how community feedback helped shape the final park design. City staff, project partners, and community organizations will be on hand to answer questions and share information.

A tree planting ceremony and remarks begin at 4:30 p.m.

Whether you attended a community event, served on the Community Resource Group, shared feedback online, or simply care about Meadowlane Park, we invite you to join us and celebrate this important community milestone.

See you there!
