Final Montgomery Park design

21 October 2025

We are pleased to share with you the final design for Montgomery Park, which reflects valuable input from the community. Seating has been placed outside the courts to preserve play space, and a shared shade structure will be installed between the playground and courts to serve both areas. Four dedicated pickleball courts are being added, along with painted pickleball lines on the tennis court. Shade trees, not originally planned, were included based on feedback from the Eastwood Neighbourhood Association of Kitchener and the broader public.

Two basketball half courts will be included in the upgraded park design, and accessibility features are being considered for one of them to support inclusive play opportunities. Concerns about traffic safety at Montgomery Road and Brentwood Avenue were also heard. While no changes are planned at this time, residents may request a traffic study through the Transportation Safety and Policy department once the park upgrades are complete. This allows the study to capture an accurate representation of park usage with the upgraded amenities.

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and helped shape the future of Montgomery Park. We will be moving forward with construction in 2026. Stay tuned for updates on Engage Kitchener!
