Construction to begin

10 April 2026

The City has hired Erth (Holdings) Inc. to install the pedestrian lighting along the Laurel Trail in Moses Springer Park.

At the end of April, you may notice utility flags marking the location of underground infrastructure, and a construction crew installing tree protection and erosion protection fencing.

Both MacKay Crescent and Marshall Street will be used during construction (for a short period of time daily) between May 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026. The contractor does not anticipate a road or trail closure. If storing construction material is required during the process, the Moses Springer Recreation Complex parking lot will be used, and protective fencing will be placed around the area.

Construction will begin on May 1, 2026, starting with the installation of pipe that will house the electrical wiring for the lighting. To minimize impact to the park and safety for park users the pipe will be installed by directional drilling instead of a standard open trench technique.

Overall, the construction process shouldn’t impact park users.
