The Township of Woolwich, through their consultant GM BluePlan Engineering Limited, is undertaking the detailed design for the conversion of the Peel Street Bridge into a pedestrian only structure. Council endorsed the Environmental Assessment for the structure in May 2021, where the decision was made to rehabilitate the structure for pedestrian and cyclist use. Construction is contingent on and pending councils approval of the construction budget.
