We want to hear from residents who participate in our recreation and leisure programs...and those who don't!

We want to make our programs available to as wide a range of people as possible, making sure they are welcoming and inclusive. Whether you are a regular participant in our programs or have not used them before, we want to know what you think! Your input will help us make sure the programs we offer reflect the diverse interests and needs of Waterloo residents.

In 2020 Community Services staff completed an internal review of recreation and leisure programs. Incorporating feedback from the WMRC (Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex) Expansion Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study, as well as a recent Older Adult Strategy, we made some changes to support a broader range of programming. What other changes are needed?

We are also working on an Indoor Community Spaces Master Plan, to better understand how spaces such as meeting rooms, event spaces, gymnasiums and ice pads are currently used and how they can be enhanced to better serve our growing population. That plan will support making city facilities more usable, welcoming, inclusive and environmentally friendly. Your feedback on this survey will help us make ongoing adjustments to our programs based on those same values.
