41 Westhill Drive - Project Update: Zoning Bylaw Amendment Application Submitted

The Region has submitted a Zoning Bylaw Amendment (ZBA) application for 41 Westhill Drive. This ZBA application proposes allowing a broader range of residential uses on the site, with slightly more height and density permitted. It also asks for a lower number of parking spaces to be required on the site. The full application and supporting documents are available for viewing on the ZBA website (link).

Please note, the ZBA application is the first in a series of pre-construction requirements for the site. Following the ZBA decision, the Region will issue a request for proposal seeking a development partner for the site. Detailed design and additional approvals will be sought by the development partner, in collaboration with the Region, prior to construction beginning on site.

On February 9th, the City of Waterloo will host an informal public engagement session as part of a City Council meeting. Please see the ZBA application website for more details.

Regional staff will also host another public meeting prior to a decision from the City on the application. This meeting will allow residents to learn more about the proposed ZBA and provide input on the proposed changes. Further details will be available shortly.
