Share your feedback on Lions Park draft concept designs

3 February 2026

What we heard

Thank you to everyone who shared your ideas with us both online and in person about the new splashpad coming to Lions Park. Your feedback is helping shape a splash pad that reflects what matters most to you and your families. This project is about creating a space that’s fun, safe, and welcoming, and your input is making that possible.

Here’s what stood out:

  • Shade and seating were top priorities, especially near toddler areas and social spaces for caregiver comfort.
  • Safety and surfacing came up often, with concerns about the ball diamond and requests for fencing or netting. Many of you also asked for soft, slip-resistant surfacing to make the space safer and more accessible.
  • Age-appropriate play and themes were important too. You told us you’d like separate zones for younger kids, predictable spray cycles, and fun themes—nautical and traditional were favorites, with nature and abstract designs also popular.

What we did

We’ve prepared two draft design concepts that reflect these priorities. They show your ideas for clearly defined spaces for toddlers, children, and youth, more shade and shaded seating, soft, slip-resistant surfacing, and fencing or layout adjustments for safety.

Now, we’d like your feedback on those two options.

What’s next

Share your thoughts on the proposed layout, including seating, shade, and age-appropriate play areas. You’ll also have the chance to tell us which design features you prefer – like seat wall materials, table styles, and shade structures.

Your feedback is an important part of the design process. Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your ideas and help us create a splash pad the whole community can enjoy! This activity is open until Feb 22, 2026.
