420 Kingscourt Drive, Waterloo is a 73-unit residential building owned and operated by Waterloo Region Housing (WRH), a division of the Region of Waterloo. 420 Kingscourt Drive is a mixed-income building with 24 units being rented at median market rents. This page provides eligibility and application information for people interested in applying for a median market rent unit at this building.
This is the second of six projects under the WRH Revitalization Plan to offer rental units at median market rent rates. There is an ongoing need for a variety of affordable housing options in the Region. A goal of the WRH Revitalization Plan is to respond to this need through the redevelopment of existing sites owned by the Region.
Important Application Information for 420 Kingscourt Drive:
- If you are interested in applying for a unit, the first step is to complete a Pre-Application Questionnaire, see the link below.
- There are 21 standard and 3 accessible units available, and in the form of a one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom.
- These units are for individuals aged 18+ and families (having at least one occupant that is aged 18+).
- The monthly rent for each unit by bedroom type is as follows:
- one-bedroom: $1,467
- two-bedroom: $1,627
- three-bedroom: $1,786
- The monthly flat utility fee for each unit by bedroom type is as follows:
- one-bedroom: $96
- two-bedroom: $159
- three-bedroom: $241
Parking
parking spots are limited but may be available for an additional fee of $50 per month, provided you will be using the parking spot for a vehicle registered in at least one of your household members' names and the vehicle is in good working condition. Parking availability will be confirmed upon the offer of a unit.
Eligibility
To be eligible you must:
- Have an income less than the required household income limit for the unit size as follows:
- Maximum Annual Household Net Income Limit (After-Tax) for a One-Bedroom: $88,020
- Maximum Annual Household Net Income Limit (After-Tax) for a Two-Bedroom: $97,590
- Maximum Annual Household Net Income Limit (After-Tax) for a Three-Bedroom: $107,160
- Not own a property suitable for year-round living.
- Be able to provide proof of status in Canada for each household member.
- Be able to provide proof of income and assets for each household member.
- Be able to provide proof of a repayment agreement in place and in good standing or a balance of zero, if you have arrears of rent.
- Be able to provide proof of bankruptcy discharge, if applicable.
- Be able to provide a copy of your credit report.

Mooregate Cres. is the largest WRH redevelopment and will have 378 units. This project is currently in the detailed design stage.
