On Monday, December 15, Kitchener Council approved the amendments to the Community Engagement Policy, following a comprehensive review and extensive public input. The updated policy aligns with industry best practices, provides a clearer framework for engagement, and reflects community expectations. There are no financial implications, and the changes support the City’s goal of fostering a caring and inclusive community.

In 2026, staff will develop a corporate strategy to put these policy updates into action and enhance how the City engages residents. The perspectives and ideas you shared will help guide those changes.
