  My Grandfather George Klinck was a huge Rangers fan! He went to all the games for many years and made great friends with many of the ushers! When he was in his late seventies and became ill with leukaemia, many of the ushers would let him in side doors to allow him access without stairs and also find him a great empty seat! He enjoyed his last years with his beloved Rangers!!!! He passed in the early eighties! A true Rangers fan!!!! - Paul Stewart

  My late father rented land just behind the Aud where the parking lot is now. I helped him plow the land and plant and harvest grain from circa 1952 to 1962. - Murray Baker

  Scoring a goal when I was 7 years old playing Police Boy hockey on the split rink.

  I shot the puck from the corner, to the goal at centre ice. It went though 6 o4 7 kids and the goalie , into the net. My one and only goal for the year. They all had a great laugh ! My memory from 65 years ago. - Chris Kraemer

  I am a member of the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association Board. For the past three years (pre Covid), our neighbourhood association organized a free neighbourhood skate at the Aud. This is my husband Jamie and our son Clark, learning to skate during this great event! - Louise Jessup

  My 1952 first Aud visit

  
  

  I remember vividly attending Kitchener Dutchmen Senior A hockey games at the Aud in for the first time in 1952. A huge portrait of King George VI hung at the end of the ARENA....... In 1953 the (Gordie Howe) Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings played an exhibition game against the Dutchmen (Senior Champions) in front of 7,000 fans! The game was tied 3-3 with one minute to go and Detroit's Earl "Dutch" Riebel (from Kitchener) scored the go-ahead goal and a last second empty-net goal clinched a 5-3 Detroit win in a hard fought game. The end boards had metal chicken wire. (no glass in those days). Of course, no netting to protect the fans, so you had to stay alert. I witnessed more than one serious fan injury in the pre-glass days. Once the Kitchener Rangers were established, in 1963, I have attended Ranger games EVERY season since..... and even had a ticket for the March 15, 2020 game which was cancelled by the Pandemic.......So many great memories of many special events at the Aud, including even singing in the mass choirs at the Christmas Public School concerts.

  I don't know where to begin. Ever since I was little the Aud was my second home. First my mother started working there and then my father. All 5 of us Kempel children followed. From Hockey games Jr. A and B. Ice Capades, Sportsman show, COE, even Bingo. So many memories. The last few years working there I got to share a booth with my mom. I met my husband there and when our daughter was little I had taken a break from working and we were seasons ticket holders. Getting hit in the face with a slap shot from Corey Keenan at the blue line while expecting my 2nd daughter made my decision to go back to work in the booth a no brainer. There were so many coworkers that were family. They were the best of times. - Sandra Kube Kempel

  When I was 13 I got to attend WeDay at The Aud with my school, it was such an inspiring experience! The guest speakers included Spencer West who spoke about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Magic Johnson and Shawn Desman who was a very relevant singer at the time. My memories of that time include that of the inspirational speeches and the performance by Shawn Desman which turned out to be quite funny as he ended up just jumping around the stage and yelling yeah into the microphone while the crowd sang the song. I met some great FreeTheChildren ambassadors which I still have contact with today and I still have my commemorative t-shirt from the day. - Stacey Lion
