Black Bridge is a single-lane steel Pratt through-truss bridge spanning a lovely stretch of the Speed River. Its type dates to the mid-1800s, and was once common, but is becoming rare. Restored in 1996, Black Bridge has stood for more than a century, and will continue into the future – as a pedestrian and cycling bridge. For motor vehicles, it will soon be replaced by another crossing nearby, while it remains as a beautiful and protected piece of our built heritage. • Water Theme Site • Parking • Guided Tour
