Where does it go from there? Find out: tour infrastructure and buildings at Ayr Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), one of the Region of Waterloo’s thirteen facilities that together process more than 180 million litres of wastewater daily. Located in a bend of the Nith River, Ayr WWTP screens, settles, aerates, clarifies, filters, and UV disinfects wastewater delivered by two wastewater pumping stations in Ayr. On an average day, approximately 270 litres per resident flows into the plant.
