Visitors will enjoy views of the changing Kitchener skyline as they tour Terminal’s penthouse suite, renovated to a design by Dfy Studio, specialists in tech industry interiors, with murals incorporating local heritage by Stephanie Scott. Terminal was founded in 2017 as a way for forward-thinking tech companies to scale their businesses and avoid the war for talent by building remote teams of skilled engineers around the world, backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Thiel Capital, Atomic, and others. Built for Waterloo Trust and Savings Co. (later Canada Trust), 305 King was described in 1964 as Kitchener’s first office tower and tallest building. WZMH Architects designed skyscrapers including Toronto’s CN Tower and Scotia Plaza. This building shows the influence of the International Style, prominent after the Second World War. The interior retains elements of its original elegance, including a travertine lobby, and brushed steel elevators and trim. Outside, the four glass-clad concrete elevations create a prismatic profile on the skyline. Characteristic of the style, a plaza sets 305 King back from the street. • Washrooms • Guided Tours
